The Rocky Horror Skivvies Show Album Available for Streaming

We just saw The Skivvies at the Bucks County Playhouse last week for my birthday and LOVED THEM! The band is tight, the voices amazing, the energy infectious. And they’ve made their first album, recorded during the pandemic, available for streaming free. You can also purchase it, which I did to support them. We will absolutely see them again when we can.

About The Skivvies

The Skivvies are Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, singer/actor/musicians performing stripped down arrangements of eclectic covers and eccentric originals. Not only is the music stripped down – cello, ukulele, glockenspiel, melodica – but the Skivvies literally strip down to their underwear to perform.

The Wall Street Journal calls them “smart, sophisticated…ingenious,” and Out Magazine says, “The Skivvies have managed to carve out a niche that we never knew needed to exist: part Weird Al- parody and part sexy burlesque…and unusual explosion of satire and sultry.”  People Magazine named The Skivvies “The Most Playful Performers” in The Most Talked about Bodies issue and Sports Illustrated named them “Favorite New Band”.  The New York Times calls them “a hot musical comedy duo specializing in unexpected arrangements, incongruous mashups, and of course, highly toned displays of skin.” They were also nominated for a MAC award for show of the year.

A Note From The Skivvies:

When the 2020 Covid pandemic cancelled everything including our upcoming Rocky Horror Skivvies Shows, we decided to do something we’ve never done before: Record an album. In 2018, our love of the score of The Rocky Horror Show led us to create a concert version where we put our classic Skivvies touch on each tune, creating medleys, mashups, and gender bending twists.  We felt these fun, wild, joyful arrangements deserved to be recorded. So keeping safety and health in mind, singers and musicians recorded both remotely and in the studio. With the arts industry hit so hard, we decided to make an “Undiegogo” campaign on Indiegogo to help support artists and cover the costs of production. We have been so overwhelmed by the generosity of fans, family, and friends. We cannot thank everyone enough. We are truly grateful for all of you in helping us make this dream come true.
