L.A. Black Pride Weekend Kicks Off Free Community Driven Festivities
Throughout Los Angeles and West Hollywood

The 7th Annual LA Black Pride celebration is taking place this year from Thursday, July 1 – Monday, July 5,2021. This 5-day Black Pride celebration is curated and produced by BBE Group, Founder and CEO, Brandon Anthony and his team.Last year, Anthony led the charge on organizing the ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER MARCH which brought together over 20,000 people marching down Highland Ave to La Brea to amplify black queer voices and support BLM. Anthony’s goal has always been rooted in creating safe spaces for LGBTQ and the Black queer community. This year’s 2021 LA Black Pride has evolved into a weekend of conversation, events and initiatives that are set forth to truly change the representation of the Black queer community in Los Angeles.

The Black Pride movement serves as a way for Black LGBTQ+ people to discuss specific issues that are more unique to the Black LGBTQ+ community and celebrate each other. The Black Gay Pride movement focuses on issues such as representation and the bringing awareness to health and mental wellness available to their communities. Black Pride is the gateway to the greater LGBT community experience for many Black LGBTQ+ people. Rather than encouraging separation, Black Pride encourages awareness of self, community, respect, and dignity.

Brandon Anthony states, “This year’s focus is on intersection of community and entertainment with award winning LGBTQ+ talent/allies and impactful conversations post-pandemic on topics necessary for the Black community. As we move into year’s to come we will continue to communicate the LABP mission of celebrating the past, while building the future. We will activate in historically Gay celebrated Los Angeles spaces like the Legendary Catch One and The Abbey. As a Black Man, we want to work on eradicating issues surrounding Homophia and racism in America.”

This year’s entertainment packed event includes a 5 day COVID-safe series of both daytime and night time activations that will feature discussion, dancing and celebrating.
