Hat tip to reader John H. for referring this fabulous B & B.

About Bears En La Playa

Bears En La Playa, located in Chelem, is a small bed and breakfast right on the beach. Chelem, Yucatan is a small fishing village just outside the port town of Progreso. We are 30 minutes from Merida, a city of about 1 million people. A better description might be that we are three and a half hours from Cancun.

robroy101The bed and breakfast is run by  Rob & Roy,  a gay couple in our fifties whose focus is to offer a place catering primarily to gay men such as ourselves (otherwise known as bears) and the LGBT community.  Of course, we welcome anyone who is accepting of other lifestyles.

Since our house has a secluded interior courtyard with pool, and a private roof top deck we are happy to offer our guests a clothing optional experience during their stay with us. There will be periods of time, with mixed company, where we will have to require clothing. Rest assured that we will inform you of these periods before you book. Once booked the clothing optional status will not change.

Rob is a retired technology executive and kibitzer (that means a person who likes to chat and help out). Roy is a retired teacher who is an awesome cook and loves to entertain. Roy handles the hospitality aspect while Rob handles the business end.

puppiesAlso part of our family are Mylo and Adele. Two adorable puppies that are growing fast. Friends of ours rescued their moma just after she gave birth and we adopted these two from the litter.
